Adeboye, Oyakhilomhe At Loggerheads Over Piece of Land

September 20, 2013

Disturbing news reaching us indicates that two powerful men of God in Nigeria, Pastors E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG; and Chris Oyakhilomhe of Christ Embassy Church, are at loggerheads over a piece of Land.
Information gathered by this office on the matter reveals that the controversial piece of land, which spread across Oloke, Asese, Maba and Gideon Villages in Ogun State, has allegedly caused the death of some lives. The two churches are not ready to shift ground on the matter and are posed to fight to the end over the parcel of land.
The land, which belonged to one late Alhaji Tajudeen Ogoluwa, is located on the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Some months ago, mercenaries of the two churches reportedly clashed on the land, and lives lost in the fracas. Christ Embassy’s thug were allegedly led by one Lukman Jimoh, otherwise known as Ogo Oluwa (the owner’s son) and they drove to the place in a Volvo Car and Toyota Hiace Bus.
Meanwhile, RCCG has petitioned the Inspector General of Police to intervene in the matter. The Adeboye-led church explained in the petition that it paid ratification fees for the land to the late Alhaji Tajudeen Ogoluwa in June 1999, who gave the church a Deed of Surrender signed by him and witnessed by one Waidi Ogunsesan.
According to one of the fastest spreading churches in the world, a Certificate of Occupancy with the number 025748, dated November 7, 2006 and signed by the then governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, was issued to the church.
RCCG added that the Ogun State government allocated the said land to it for 99 years in a letter signed by the Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Surveyor Gbenga Ogunnoike.
However, the police IG has ordered the Eleweran Police Headquarters in Ogun State look into the case.
